I’m Jodi McConaghy, a professional photographer with over 15 years of experience, specialising in capturing the energy, spirit, and individuality of athletes. I work across running events, dance festivals, official club photo days, team shoots, and individual player portraits, bringing professionalism, precision, and heart to every event or session.

I am down-to-earth, organised, communicative, efficient, honest, and community-minded (and a bit playful). My approach is fastidious yet joyous—I pay attention to every detail (socks and shoelaces) while keeping the process fun and comfortable for everyone I photograph.

Beyond capturing sports moments, I also share my passion for photography as an educator at TAFE Kingswood and Katoomba in the Visual Arts department and I am the official photographer of the Blue Mountains Nepean Dance Festival (over 55 schools, and 3000 dancers)

I collaborate with sports organisations throughout the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, and Greater Western Sydney, helping teams and athletes showcase their dedication and achievements.

My philosophy is simple: as a child and teenager, I was a runner and netball player, but I never had professional sports photos taken of myself or my teams. The few photos I have now are blurry or low-quality (and I look red-faced and sweaty) leaving me without many photographic memories. I don’t want today’s athletes to miss out like me.

So, I take high-quality portraits and official team photos for everyone. I create photo packages (printed and displayed in vinyl sleeves), designed to be affordable memorable keepsakes, capturing the unique personality of every athlete and their team.

I am happy for players to smile, look serious, or show a bit of sass (not like school photos). Oh, and I also shoot fun, crazy team photos that show everyone’s personalities. I call them ‘Muck Up’ photos and they are my favourite photos of the day. I have a hoot selecting the best ones and editing them.
